CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
This week, our senior children complete their final week of Remote Schooling and we look forward to their return next Tuesday. As all children return, we understand that a number of them may be experiencing mixed emotions: nervous, excited, anxious and even unsure about coming back to the classroom and school environment. This is something that all staff are aware of and have discussed with each other. Below is an outline of what our children may expect to see upon their return.
- Re-establishing routines and expectations, in line with our school wide expectations of being Respectful, Resilient and Safe
- Briefly reflecting upon our personal experiences whilst in isolation to help with re-establishing relationships and communicating with each other
- Undertaking activities to ensure everyone feels safe and included back into our classroom and school routine.
We sincerely thank all our families for their support and we look forward to continuing the partnership between families and staff throughout the remainder of the school year.
Families should have received details regarding the arrangements for the return to school for all students. These have also been added to this newsletter. Students will arrive in alphabetical order at staggered times in the morning and will then be dismissed by year levels in the afternoon, beginning with the Foundation children and their siblings at 3pm. Please note the change with the order of grades and time intervals. We hope this arrangement will alleviate the amount of traffic outside the school with neighbouring schools being dismissed at 3.15pm.
As we continue with our learning at school, we ask that all chromebooks are returned next Tuesday, together with LLI readers. We have a number of LLI readers not returned from junior grades and ask families to check remote schooling packs and spaces around the home. Thank you.
Please know that Don Cook will not be continuing with guitar lessons this term and asks that all children who borrowed guitars return them to school next week for collection. Any further enquiries regarding guitar lessons should be made directly to Don Cook on the following number: 0408 143 763.
Unfortunately, due to the current COVID 19 restrictions and the uncertainty that surrounds them, a number of school activities will need to be postponed or cancelled. I will be in touch with service providers before the end of the term and hope to confirm what activities will be removed from this year's calendar. You will be notified as soon as possible.
We remind families to label all belongings and school uniform items. We have a large collection of fleecy windcheaters in the lost and found basket and ask children to check the trestles in the hall for lost items. Thank you to Lisa for tidying uniform items.
All children are asked to be in their Winter uniform next Tuesday, June 9th. It is great to see the junior classes wearing their winter uniform so well. We remind families that the school jumper is to be worn and the school jacket can be added for extra warmth, however, the school jacket is not to replace the school jumper. Staff will be reminding students.
Class awards will be given out each week and published in the newsletter. This tradition will begin again next week with the return of all classes.
Please know that upon the return to school, any children feeling unwell or presenting with COVID 19 symptoms will be sent home. Parents will be asked to collect their unwell child. Children may return once all symptoms are resolved.
