CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour - Update
As part of our work on the Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour, staff, led by the WSAPB Team have been working hard on the next key feature of 'Consequences'. We are aiming to develop logical, fair and consistent consequences that maintain the dignity, psychological and physical safety of students. This process also helps students to understand the impact of their behaviour on others and places a strong emphasis on building positive relationships. Our Team leader, Nicki Bourbaud, met with a group of student leaders and future leaders last Monday to ask them about consequences in our school and she was very excited with the responses and the conversations that were had.
We remind families that the process of the Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour is not just about students, but everyone in our school community.
“Our aim is to create and maintain a culture of building resilience in our staff, students and families; develop and maintain respect for all; and ensure that everyone - staff, students and families feel safe in our environment.”
We look forward to sharing our work with you and gathering feedback as we continue to review policies and procedures around Child Safety.
CHILD SAFETY
Please know that guidelines around COVID 19 are changing and evolving regularly. Current guidelines are listed below and refer to students and their families.
Families are reminded that children should not attend school if they are unwell.
Parents, guardians or carers will be asked to collect their child if they display any COVID 19 symptoms or present unwell at school. Furthermore, children of parents, guardians or carers undergoing testing for COVID-19, should remain absent from school until the parent, guardian or carer receives a negative test result.
If students who are being tested for COVID-19 have siblings who attend a school managed and operated by the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL), then the siblings should also remain at home until a negative test result is provided for the student awaiting a test result.
As Victoria is experiencing significant community transmission of COVID-19, all parents, guardians, carers and students who are feeling unwell and displaying symptoms of COVID19 are encouraged to get tested.
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM
Please know that students wishing to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist or Confirmation will need to wait until 2021. Principals and Religious Education leaders from local schools met yesterday with Fr Peter, Fr Edwin and the Parish Sacramental Co-ordinator Jenny Fitzgerald and agreed that postponing sacramental preparation would be the best course of action at this time. Those who have enrolled to receive a sacrament will be notified of 2021 arrangements later in the year.
INSIGHT SRC SURVEY
This week, Insight SRC surveys were distributed to various families across the school. Documentation can be completed online or via hard copy. If you did not receive an opportunity this year, there will be opportunities in following years as the survey is completed annually. The survey is used to gather feedback about different aspects of school and to inform future planning. The survey is optional, however, we do encourage families to complete it. Families may choose to complete the survey online or return completed forms to the front office.
Students in Years Four and Six will have the opportunity to complete the survey in the next fortnight. Staff will also be asked to complete the survey.
PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Online registrations for Parent/teacher Interviews will close this afternoon at 4pm. Please choose a time that works for you and teachers will call you at this time. Please know that all families are asked to make an appointment time. If you have difficulty accessing the online registration platform, please contact the front off and admin may be able to assist you.

To celebrate, we are asking all foundation students to come dressed up as their 100 year old self.
Dress up ideas include pretend glasses, curlers in hair, talcum power/flour in hair, walking sticks, beards, moustaches, shawls, brooches, hats, hair in a bun, dressing gowns, handbags, braces, beads, scarves, glasses chain. Be creative!
Please bring to school a collection of 100 objects for display. Some ideas include pasta, small lego pieces, dried beans, pom poms, rubber bands, shells, beads. Bring them along in a snap lock bag with your child's name clearly written on it. We do not want you to have to buy something, so please ask for ideas if you need help.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we cannot share lunch together. Therefore, we suggest that you may like to send something special in your child's lunch box as a treat.
These students will receive their awards in their classrooms.
