CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
All staff wish you well and hope you are travelling along nicely during this period of Remote Schooling. This has been our first full week and it appears children have settled in smoothly, a little more familiar with routines and expectations. We encourage you to communicate with your child’s teacher as we continually reflect and evaluate the delivery of lessons and how we can effectively engage children with their learning. Teachers will call a number of families each afternoon and leave a message if you are unavailable. We ask you to email staff and nominate a time for them to call if they miss you. Each family should receive at least one call a week.
Please know that learning packs will be available for collection next Friday, August 21st 2020 between 8.15 am and 3.45pm. We ask adults to observe social distancing, to sanitise and to wear their masks when collecting their child’s learning pack.
A number of students and families have asked about Book Week. Please know that the Children’s Book Council of Australia has announced the theme for Children’s Book Week 2020: ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’, however, Book week has been postponed by the Council. It is anticipated that this celebration will take place in Term 4. No date has been set as yet.
A letter will be sent home next week to the families of siblings intending to begin school in 2021. Parents will also receive a call from either Allison Arnup or myself as we endeavour to learn a little about your child and how they may approach their first year of schooling. Phone calls will be made throughout the remainder of this term. A reminder that children must have turned five by April 30th, 2021, to be eligible to start school next year.
As mentioned last week, children onsite will have their temperature checked each morning. Unwell children are asked to remain at home and will be sent home if not feeling well or displaying symptoms of COVID19 whilst attending school. Children presenting with a temperature of 37.5 degrees celsius will have their temperature taken a second time, 15 minutes after the first reading. If it remains the same or higher, parents will be asked to collect their child.
We pray for the health, wellbeing and safety of our children and their families. When things get a little too busy, please take time to stop and have some “time away” to find something that breathes life and energy into you again.

Skylah's 100 days of school and her new remote schooling helper, Coco.
This week in class we have been writing recounts about our weekend, learning about money and learning how to give our opinions.
Fee Statements were emailed yesterday.
Please contact the Office if you wish to discuss your account.
Refunds will occur at the commencement of Term 4 if scheduled Camps/Activities do not proceed.
The Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Sale's Christmas Card competition is coming soon. Information will be sent home in your art packs soon.
This year the theme is based on the following scriptural quote:
And she gave birth to her firstborn son
and wrapped him in bands of cloth
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no place for them in the inn.
(Luke 2: 7-8)
