CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN SALE
Our school is a place of faith and learning
Dear Parents and Families,
I would like to thank Casey and Lisa for sorting through Lucky Book Club orders and having them available for families. As you are aware, we are very limited with staff onsite and only those teachers needing to be onsite for supervision are present. Likewise, our Lucky Book Club volunteers cannot be onsite. Hence, book orders will be placed with individual learning packs set to go home again next Friday on September 4th 2020.
Learning Packs can be picked up between 8.15am and 3.45pm on September 4th from the stadium. Please wear your mask, social distance and hand sanitise. Learning Packs will be set up for the last two weeks of term.
Please know that September 4th 2020 will be a learning day for students with a Religious Education Professional Learning day originally planned for local schools postponed until next year. Similarly, Friday September 18th 2020 will be a learning day and the last day of term, unless directed otherwise by governing authorities. As yet, we have had no official notification of the nature of the last week of term.
I had the opportunity to google meet with Year 6B this morning and enjoyed listening to their stories and discussing their persuasive writing pieces, “Why the school day should or should not be longer?” The students raised some very valid points and perhaps we can share some pieces next week, after I have had the chance to also meet with Year 6PB.
I congratulate all our children and families for their commitment in managing Remote Schooling. It is a very different learning space that presents us with challenges and successes.
I hope you enjoy the photos shared this week.
Enjoy your weekend.
Take care

In Foundation, this week our ‘Word of the Week’ was teacher. It has three digraphs and the students worked hard at learning a very challenging word. Today they drew pictures of some of their teachers.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son
and wrapped him in bands of cloth
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no place for them in the inn.

Although our libraries remain closed, we are still offering our little patrons some engaging children’s programming to celebrate Father’s Day!
Next week, families that borrow books through our Click & Deliver service will be able to ask staff for Father’s Day Storytime packs – packs are aimed at 3-6yr olds, and will have a variety of activities children can create for dad.
To use the borrowing service, simply jump onto the library website:
https://www.wellington.vic.gov.au/category/libraries
We will also be running a special, Father’s Day Storytime via Zoom on Friday 4th September at 10.30am.
All stories, songs and rhymes in this session will be about dad.
Bookings for this program can be made here:

And keep an eye out on the Council Facebook page on Father’s Day. We’ve arranged for a special reading for families to enjoy.
Sale Mobile Donor Centre has extended its visit.
Donating blood, just like the current COVID retrictions, relies on everyone doing their part. As different parts of the country experience lockdowns and restrictions, it’s important to remember blood donation is essential and allowed.
To support the need for more donors nationally, we have extended our visit to Sale. The Mobile Donor Centre will remain in town for the week September 8th -11th 2020.
We’ve never been more together!
Even though we’re staying apart, our donors are still pulling together to ensure we collect the 31,000 required every week to support the 1 in 3 Australians who require donated blood.
- Book an appointment to donate.
- Add your donation to our Lifeblood Team tally
For further information and eligibility to donate visit Lifeblood.
