Message from the Principal

Our school is a place of faith and learning

Dear Parents and Families,

We welcome the fourth term and look forward to having all children onsite on Tuesday October 26th, 2021.

Our junior school students are settling back into the routine of school and enjoying the company of their friends. Next week, we will have our Year 3&4 students join us on Tuesday and Wednesday and our 5&6 students will join us on Thursday and Friday.

We ask our senior students to bring their pencils and work books with them when they return.

All children may wear either their summer or winter uniform next week, however, by week Three, we ask that all students are in their summer uniform. We also remind students that hair is to be tied back and school jumpers are to be worn with the summer uniform and not school jackets. Teachers will notify families of sports days and when the sports uniform can be worn.

Our school day will focus on re-establishing friendships and returning to school routines and expectations. We understand that some children may find it challenging and we will do our very best to support them socially and emotionally.

Once again , we thank you for your support and we know that many families have juggled their commitments to make Remote Schooling work for them.

WELCOME

We welcome Miss Justine Shields to the Year 4G classroom. Miss Shields will replace Kristy Glover for the remainder of the term. Miss Glover will finish the school year on October 15th. We wish her the very best as she waits for the birth of her first child.

We also welcome Mrs Tanika Richards to our staff. Mrs Richards will be teaching Music while Mr Phil Bartlett takes leave later in the term.

COVID SAFETY

Over the next two weeks, students will be able to use the Raglan St and Guthridge Parade gates to enter and exit the school grounds. We understand that some children may be a little unsettled when starting the day, if so, teachers and support staff will be able to assist with the transition into school at the gates or foyer. At present, only essential visitors may enter the school building via the school foyer. Masks need to be worn and social distancing needs to be observed.

We ask families to remind all children of safe practices around handwashing, coughing and sneezing.

If children are unwell, we ask that they remain at home. Children who present unwell at school will be sent home.

Adults who are unwell are reminded not to enter school grounds.

Please know that these protocols are in place to ensure the safety of all students, families and staff.

SCHOOL CAMPS

Please know that unfortunately, the Year 3&4 camp will not be able to proceed and all other camps have been put on hold.

Once again we look forward to the fourth term and having our children back at school.

Enjoy your weekend,

Anita & Staff
